Bonnie Wolfe, Missouri Baptist Medical Center
Bonnie Wolfe, Missouri Baptist Medical Cente,r human resources recruiter, began her journey to better health in July of 2009. At 58, she was a young person trapped in the body of an overweight, tired old woman with bad knees, headaches and an aching back.
Then she decided to take ownership of her life and her body. She bought a three-year gym membership and signed up for a year of personal training -- not a small investment, but one that has paid off.
Wolfe's first milestone came at her three-month weigh in, where she discovered she had lost 28 pounds and 30 inches. Now, two years later and more than 100 pounds down, Wolfe has set a new goal, which doesn't involve the scale as much as maintaining good health. She also has been an inspiration to her daughter, who recently began her own journey to health.
"Today at 60, Bonnie is a new woman inside and out," says her nominator. "She has a positive attitude and looks forward to each and every new day."
